New Jersey retailer Electronics Expo, having regained its financial footing, will open an additional high-end-brand-populated store next month in the same Union, N.J. 10,800-square-foot facility that had originally housed the chain’s second store, Leon Temiz, its CEO, told Dealerscope Thursday. The store currently operates out of a single, 19,000-square-foot facility in Wayne, N.J; the new store will hold a soft opening Nov. 6 for the vendor community and then officially open on Nov. 10.
“We wanted to make sure this format would work and that the Wayne location did well” before opening the Union store, Temiz explained. “In this calendar year, we are now profitable. We came back.
“Electronics Expo has been in business for 12 years and we have 400,000 customers in the New Jersey who are familiar with us. We have over 100,000 emails – a built-in customer base – and we have been talking to them directly and constantly all the time. We’re not a stranger to the customers. We also have very strong Internet ratings. That’s how we became profitable again,” Temiz said.
