Analyst: Apple's TV a Year Away
A top analyst this week predicted that Apple will in fact debut an HDTV in 2012. According to Business Insider, Piper Jaffray's Gene Munster sees Apple unveiling a branded HDTV product in 2012, most likely for the holiday season.
Munster, speaking at the Ignition conference, predicted that Apple will release the product in multiple sizes, and price them a premium close to twice what "normal" TVs are normally priced. He also forecasted that the TV will integrate with Apple's other devices, but that it would still require use of a cable or satellite source.
Steve Jobs confirmed to journalist Walter Isaacson, in his recently released eponymous biography, that a new HDTV was among the products he saw Apple developing in the future, although he did not share details about how far along the project was.
