Acer Unveils Ambitious Line of Mobile Devices and Services
Acer unveiled new tablets, touchbook, smartphone, a content sharing platform and a content store as part of an ambitious effort to drive convergence solutions into the home. Here's a look at some of the key products:
At the international press conference Tuesday in New York City, Jim Wong, Acer's senior vice president, kicked things off by introducing the Iconia, a unique touchscreen device (or touchbook) that combines the features of a tablet and a notebook. The Iconia, scheduled to hit the street next month, has two 14-inch HD touchscreens: one where the screen usually is on a notebook and one that replaces a traditional keyboard. The dual-screen design allows consumers to use all their fingers to navigate the system.
