Retail theft rings hit CE retailers where they live
By Audrey Gray
A man and woman walk into a small electronics shop in downtown Philadelphia just after opening time and manage, through a variety of ever-evolving ploys, to lift six Xbox games within a matter of minutes. They hop into a waiting sedan and cruise out to a suburban mall in a different police jurisdiction. By noon, the couple has hit two separate mall retailers for Xboxes and is back on the road, headed to New Jersey to drop off their daily quota of booty at the door of a businessman who'll be auctioning off Xboxes on the Internet by suppertime.
