At CEDIA, Specialty Dealers Do Design Too
Custom specialty retailer Sam Shelton of All Safe & Sound, Inc. travelled to CEDIA from St. Louis, looking for the latest in mounting hardware that’ll make it easier to tempt his customers to float their flatpanels. He’d walked through the booths of all the major mount manufacturers applying his hands-on experience to his buying choices.
“Here’s what happens out there, the arms on mounts pinch your wires,” he said. “So after a homeowner pulls their TV in and out a number of times, the cables can get loose or even break off the HDMI input. I’m looking for wire management.”
Sanus Systems was courting thousands of dealers like Shelton with a new line of “installer-friendly” features in their latest mounting hardware, from hollow arms meant to generously house cables to post-installation height adjustment capability.
