The successor device to Amazon's Kindle device, which had been rumored to surface in time for the holidays, will now make its debut early in 2009. That's according to TechCrunch.com, which quoted sources placing the device's release "early next quarter."
The device is expected to be longer but less thick than the original. The report also said the device was set for release in October, before it was pulled due to last-minute software changes. Meanwhile, the device is reportedly sold out for the entire holiday season, Silicon Alley Insider reported.
