Verizon Seen Selling 9 Million iPhones in First Year
After the iPhone debuts on Verizon Wireless in 2011, about 9 million of the device will be sold in the first year, according to an analyst report this week.
According to Piper Jaffray's Gene Munster, as cited by BGR.com, Verizon will sell 25 million smartphones overall, of which the iPhone will comprise around 36 percent. Total iPhone sales are expected to reach 20 million, 2.5 million more than this year's projected total.
Various news organizations have reported on the existence of a CDMA-capable Verizon iPhone, although no official announcement has been made.
