After iPhone, More Touchscreens Likely to Come
The technological breakthrough that is the iPhone may very well lead to an explosion of new telecommunications handsets next year that also feature a touchscreen interface- with everyone from Palm to Research in Motion to other hardware firms jumping into the fray with products of their own in 2008, after Samsung and others released touchscreen devices earlier this year.
That’s according to an analysis published on Forbes.com on Thursday. According to figures from the research firm Strategy Analytics that were reported by Forbes, touchscreen technology will reach 40 percent of mobile phones in the next four years. However, there is no expectation that keystrokes will disappear altogether.
