After Price Drop, Sony Launches PSP Campaign
Just a couple of weeks after announcing a drop in price for its PSP portable console, Sony has announced a major new ad campaign based on the phrase “Dude, Get Your Own.” The ads, aimed at the 13-to-17-year-old market, will be aired both on television and online, Sony Computer Entertainment America said in a statement.
The commercials will air on such popular, youth-focused TV shows as Comedy Central’s “South Park,” NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” and Cartoon Network’s “Adult Swim” late-night lineup. Sony will also, later this week, roll out a Web site that will host the ads. One has already appeared on YouTube.
Sony announced April 4 that it was dropping the suggested retail price for the PSP to $169.99, from about $200, a move that had been rumored for months.
