Google Will Make a Phone
After years of rumors and the success of its Android operating system in 2009, Google is planning to make a mobile phone device of its own starting next year, the Wall Street Journal reported over the weekend.
Industry sources told the Journal that the phone, designed inside Google, will be called the Nexus One. The other twist is that the phone will be sold directly by Google online, requiring buyers to purchase wireless service separately.
Google has also announced that it is testing the device with its employees currently.
