AfterShokz Honored with Prestigious International Red Dot Product Design Award
AfterShokz, the bone conduction headphone brand known for prioritizing situational awareness and comfort through its unique open-ear design, today announced that Trekz Air bone conduction headphones won the coveted Red Dot Design Award for high quality and innovative product design. As one of the world’s largest and most distinguished design competitions, participants from 59 nations submitted approximately 6,300 products and innovations for the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2018. This annual and international award recognizes an elite subset of innovative companies that developed products with distinguished design qualities unlike any other in the category. The Red Dot is a quality seal for good design and innovations, which constitutes and highlights the quality difference globally.
Trekz Air are the ultimate sport headphones inspired by the demands of elite and aspiring athletes. These wireless, open ear headphones sit outside your ears instead of in or on your ears and use bone conduction technology to transmit audio waves to the inner ears by sending vibrations through your cheekbones. This leaves your ear canals open, allowing you to remain alert and aware of ambient sounds while you enjoy music and talk on the phone. The backbone of the industrial design is a single piece of titanium alloy wire that’s built into the entire headphone system, an element chosen not only for its strength and durability, but also for its infinite flexibility, which delivers maximum comfort, portability and the very best sound.
“Design has always been a big priority for all of our products as we strive to deliver the most innovative, safe and functional headphones,” said Kimberly Fassetta, CMO of AfterShokz. “Receiving the Red Dot product design award validates the creative investment that went into Trekz Air, as well as the commitment and prestige of our product development and design teams.”
