Nationwide Dealers Get Exclusive Line
Nationwide Marketing Group dealers now have something to compete with when major manufacturers suddenly slash the prices of TVs and other products.
The buying group, during its PrimeTime! dealer/vendor event this week in Dallas, rolled out the Allegra line of TVs, Blu-Ray players, Android tablets, and gaming systems and accessories. Pricing will start under $500. The lines are designed to give dealers a value-priced, quality product that they can roll out when major vendors, big-box retailers and etailers blow out their loss leaders. Margins on the Allegra lines generally run between 12 and 15 points.
"I think it's a great idea," said Randy Haggard of H&H Electronics in Elk City, Okla., adding that he was told that dealers can brand the TVs with their own names when they provide a 90-day lead. "We'll have an exclusive line that we can make money on instead of losing our shirts on."
