Amana Unveils New Appliance Brand
The appliance maker Amana has announced a new product line under the name and philosophy “Affordable Design.” The line, which includes kitchen suites, washer/dryers and refrigerators, is meant to showcase “good design without an expensive price tag,” the company said.
Top products on the line include the stainless steel kitchen suites (starting at $1,449), front-load washer/dryers (mostly less than $600 each), top-mount refrigerators ($549) and the unique Amana Jot refrigerator, which features an interface that double as a dry-erase board.
“Just as a few inspired retailers and clothing designers have developed progressive brands with affordable price tags for the masses, Amana aspires to carve out that new space for appliances,” the Amana brand’s general manager, Rodolfo Torello, said as part of the announcement. “The brand promise is to give style-conscious consumers, regardless of their budgets, the opportunity to buy design-focused appliances that are a joy to look at and a joy to use.”
