“Amazon Unbox on TiVo,” a new service announced by the Amazon and TiVo on Wednesday, allows users to watch downloadable video purchased on Amazon.com on television sets via their TiVo box. The beta test for this product will include 600,000 users, with a full 1.5 million units to follow. Numerous studios have signed on, including Warner Bros., Paramount, Fox, Lions Gate and Universal. Amazon launched its Unbox video download service in September, but this is the first time it’s been bundled with a service that can deliver content to a television set. Pricing will be similar to iTunes at $1.99 for television shows, and $9.99 to $14.99 for films. Film rentals will cost $1.99.
