Amazon: Ebook Sales Overtake Book Sales
In a milestone for the popular adoption of Ebooks, Amazon said Thursday that it now sells more Kindle books than physical books. Since April 1, the company said, it has sold 105 Kindle books for every 100 paperback or hardcover books.
"Customers are now choosing Kindle books more often than print books. We had high hopes that this would happen eventually, but we never imagined it would happen this quickly - we've been selling print books for 15 years and Kindle books for less than four years," CEO Jeff Bezos said as part of the announcement.
Bezos also said that the new Kindle With Special Offers is now the highest-sellest Kindle device.
