Amazon Eyes Same-Day Delivery
Amazon is planning a shift in its business model that will include same-day delivery of products, which is one reason the company has been reaching compromises in regards to sales taxes.
According to Slate, which cited a Financial Times report, Amazon plans to set up distribution centers closer to major population centers, in order to make deliveries quicker. Previously, due to its sales tax avoidance strategy, Amazon had set up shop in low-cost, lower-population areas and shipped to bigger cities from there.
Amazon is also putting in new efficiency measures at its facilities.
