Amazon Has Spent $3 Million to Fight Tax
Amazon's price tag for fighting the enactment of an online sales tax has crossed the $3 million mark, according to a report this week.
The Bay Citizen, citing a filing with the California Secretary of State's office, found that Amazon has already donated $3 million to the More Jobs Not Taxes Committee, a committee created to fight the law that was signed earlier this year by Gov. Jerry Brown. Amazon announced its pullout from the state after the law was signed.
The committee's goal is to get an initiative on the ballot next year to repeal the tax.
