Amazon’s Kindle Already Sold Out
Reviewers may be divided on the viability of Amazon’s new Kindle book reader, but in seems there was more than enough interest in the device from consumers. According to the Kindle’s page on Amazon, the device is entirely sold out of its current inventory and will be so for three weeks.
“Due to heavy customer demand, Kindle is temporarily sold out,” the page reads. Amazon says the Kindle will be back in stock on Dec. 17. Customers are advised to order soon because the product is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Retailing for $399, the Kindle launched last week. It gives consumers wireless access to more than 88,000 books, as well as several newspapers and magazines and over 250 blogs. Of its first 720 reviews on the Amazon.com site, 169 have been five stars and 92 four stars; meanwhile, 235 reviewers have given it one star and 108 have given it two. The average rating is three stars.
