Report: Kindle Goes to Target
Amazon is about to lose its sales monopoly on the its Kindle device, according to a report by Engadget. The site, citing an internal inventory listing, reported Thursday that Target will begin carrying the popular e-reader April 25.
The retailer would become the first brick-and-mortar store, as well as the first non-Amazon retailer, to carry the Kindle. The device was listed at its current price of $259.
In addition, Engadget reported that Barnes and Noble's Nook device will soon arrive at Best Buy. Citing, once again, an inventory listing, the site found that the retailer would begin selling the device April 18. The device had previously only been sold directly by the bookstore giant.
