The all-new Blink XT2 is Amazon’s next-gen outdoor/indoor battery-powered, 1080p HD video, smart security camera with two-way talk, live view, and motion recording. The Blink XT2 starts at $89.99, and comes with free cloud storage at no monthly cost. Not only is this follow up to the Blink XT less expensive, but thanks to the new chip technology, it also lasts roughly two years on just a couple of lithium AA batteries.
The XT2 also features enhanced motion detection, which allows users to customize what gets picked up by the camera to reduce the number of false alerts. When someone is actually at the door, users can access the microphone in the Blink app to engage in two-way talk with their guest. Live streams of the entryways can be accessed through an Amazon Echo Spot, Echo Show, or Fire TV by asking Alexa to show the necessary camera. Video clips and live streams can be recorded and stored on the cloud and accessed at any time.
When used exclusively for motion-activated recording or Live View, Amazon says the Blink XT2 is capable of providing double the usage of the Blink XT on a pair of batteries. But, customers can still use the two-way talk regularly and still get the same result in terms of longevity.
