Eugene Trevor founded the company as Trevor Radio & Appliances on Lexington Avenue in New York, selling major appliances, tvs, radios and housewares to the general public. As business grew, he moved the company to Long Island City in 1965 to a larger store/warehouse and Amco McLean was then founded as the Appliance Merchandising Company. As the demand for product grew, Amco began their wholesaling operation to dealers. Major lines at this time included HP, Texas Instruments, RCA, Zenith and Panasonic. Since 1970, the company again expanded to larger facilities first to Yonkers, then to their current location in Mount Vernon.
This family-owned business attributes their growth and expansion over many years to their commitment to their customers by proving efficient service and rapid delivery of the most wanted products to their dealers. Amco McLean has been instrumental in aiding their dealers to achieve the profits they deserve need and justly deserve. By putting their dealers in the forefront, Amco attributes their success and longevity to their customer’s commitment to them.
