Apple announced Tuesday that the 3G-enabled version of the iPad device will be released April 30 for those who have pre-ordered it. The device will be released to Apple retail stores that day as well.
Apple had been saying until Tuesday that the device would arrive in "late April," or 90 days after the event in January when Steve Jobs introduced the device. Apple's Web site stated yesterday that the device would be ready for non-pre-orderers "by May 7."
As with the Wi-Fi version, the 3G iPad will come with free setup service in Apple stores. It will also be available at Best Buy and select Apple authorized resellers and campus bookstores.
