Sales of Apple’s Mac computers grew to the point of reaching a 14 percent of the market- and 25 percent of the dollars spent- for PCs in February, up from 9 and 16 percent, respectively, this time last year. That’s according to the latest NPD Group numbers, which were released early by an analyst with Pacific Crest Securities, AppleInsider.com reported.
The numbers, according to rities analyst Andy Hargreaves, represented a 60 percent gain in units and a 67 percent gain in revenues. The 67 percent figure also applied to notebook computers, reflecting the strength of the new MacBook Air, which was released in January.
