Apple Profit Jumps 67 Percent
Apple Inc.’s profit jumped 67 percent in the most recent quarter, on the strength of the iPhone, new iPods, new Macintoshes, and interplay among all three, the company reported.
In the quarter ending Sept. 29, Apple sold 2.16 million Macs, 1.1 million iPhones and 10.2 million iPods. It all added up to revenue of $6.22 billion and net quarterly profit of $904 million, both well ahead of recent industry trends.
