Apple Now Takes Cash For iPads
Apple has agreed to reverse a long-standing policy banning purchases of iPads and other big-ticket items with cash from its stores, following a local TV news report in San Francisco.
KGO-TV in San Francisco reported this week about a woman who used saved-up cash to purchase an iPad at a local Apple store, only to be told that company policy disallowed cash purchases. After the woman, Diane Campbell, went to the TV station, Apple made a corporate decision to reverse the policy company-wide- customers are now allowed to pay cash provided they set up an Apple account.
In addition, Apple awarded Campbell with a free iPad, to thank her for bringing the issue to their attention.
