Apple executives this week stated unequivocally that they will sue anyone they feel has stolen their intellectual property- leading some to conclude they were talking about Palm's Pre.
According to Reuters, Palm's stock dropped Thursday after Apple COO Tim Cook, in Apple's earnings conference call, made the threat, albeit without mentioning any other company specifically. Palm's stock dropped as much as 8 percent before rebounding to close at -3.
Palm's Pre phone, which was one of the hit products at International CES earlier this month, features a multi-touch screen similar to that of Apple's iPhone. Palm's executive chairman and chief financial officer are both Apple veterans.
