iPhone Production Reportedly Doubles
Apple has reportedly doubled production of iPhones this quarter, as the company eyes the release of a new version of the device in June. That's according to an analyst with Barclay's Capital, as cited Monday by AppleInsider.
Ben Reitzes, a Barclay's analyst, heard from company sources that the new device will ship in June, complete with an advanced camera and video-filming capabilities.
According to the report, Apple will go to a multi-tiered hierarchy of iPhones in which high- and low-end versions are sold at different price points. The company has already scheduled its developers conference for June; the event last June saw the introduction of the iPhone 3G.
