Apple Makes Gaming Push
While computer gaming has been the province of PC users for most of the past two decades, they may be about to change, because Apple has teamed up with game developers to put more titles on Macs.
According to a two-part series over the weekend in E-Commerce News, Apple’s increase in overall computer market share has caused developers to take notice- with Electronics Arts already announcing that a series of popular games, including “Madden NFL 08,” “”Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” and “Tiger Woods PGA Tour ‘08,” would debut on the Mac platform. More recently, EA announced that “Spore” would appear on Macs as well as PCs.
While Mac’s share of the gaming market remains very small, experts quoted by E-Commerce News said that various new virtualization software will likely make Mac gaming easier as time goes on.
