Apple Posts $8.5 Billion Profit; iPad Sales Lag
Apple said Monday that it posted an $8.5 billion on $42.1 billion in revenue in the fourth fiscal quarter, both increases over the $7.5 billion and $37.5 billion figures the same time last year.
The company reported sales of 39.3 million iPhone units- a 16 percent increase over last year and 5.52 million Macs, up 21 percent. The lone poor spot was iPads- as the sales of 12.3 million marked a 13 percent drop.
“Our fiscal 2014 was one for the record books, including the biggest iPhone launch ever with iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus,” Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, said in a statement.
