Apple Retail Cuts Were Part of Dropped Staffing Formula
Apple's retail chief said that reported cuts to staffing levels in the company's retail stores were due to a "new staffing formula" that has since been abandoned, Dow Jones Newswires reported Thursday.
According to the newswire, John Browett briefly tried out a new formula for determining staffing levels, which resulted in some jobs cuts, but that the company has gone back to its previous model. Browett said that no one was fired but that many employees had their hours reduced.
He added, according to the report, that the company is now adding retail staff.
