600,000 iPhones Sold in Pre-Sale
Apple said Wednesday that it sold 600,000 iPhone 4 devices in the first two days of its pre-sale, a new record. Apple and AT&T both sold out of the device, despite frequent malfunctions in both companies' ordering systems.
"Many customers were turned away or abandoned the process in frustration," Apple said in a statement Wednesday. "We apologize to everyone who encountered difficulties, and hope that they will try again or visit an Apple or carrier store once the iPhone 4 is in stock."'
The device will be released June 24.
