Apple Stores Seen Dropping Some Hardware
Apple is planning to drop some hardware peripherals and software titles, including more than 30 games, from its retail stores, making room for the expansion of its new in-store setup service for Macs.
According to The Loop, which cited Apple sources, most of the products removed will come from third-party vendors, as the retailer is not interested in reducing the presence of Mac computers, iPads, iPods or iPhones.
Printers, scanners and up to 32 game titles will no longer be carried in-store, although the products will be kept in the back and will remain available for online order.
A report last month said that Apple was considering phasing out boxed software from it stores.
