Apple To Earn 55 Percent-Per-Product Margin on iPhone, iSuppli Says
Each new iPhone cost Apple $265.83 to manufacture, giving it a margin of $333.17, or 55 percent, according to a “teardown analysis” conducted by iSuppli Corp.
The research firm also found that the phone was produced materials manufactured by Samsung, National Semiconductor Corp., and several other companies.
Bloomberg News placed the iPhone’s margin as higher than those of several competing products. The iPhone retails for $599 in its most expensive denomination.
