Apple Unveils iPhone 4S
Apple Tuesday took the wraps off its new iPhone, which will be called the iPhone 4S. The device looks very similar to its predecessor the iPhone 4, but sports numerous internal and software upgrades.
The new device will arrive Oct. 14, on three carriers in the U.S.: AT&T, Verizon Wireless and, for the first time, Sprint. Preorders begin Oct. 7.
The new iPhone, Apple CEO Tim Cook said during the presentation at Apple's headquarters, will feature an A5 chip for increased speed, while also running iOS5 software and sporting improved picture and video cameras. Still picture capability has risen to 8 megapixels and 3264 x 2448, while the new device will record video in 1080p.
