Apple Unveils Third iPad, with 4G and Retina Display
Apple Wednesday unveiled its newest iPad, which sports brings the Retina Display screen to the company's tablet. The device also comes in a 4G LTE version on both Verizon Wireless and AT&T, the first iOS device to offer that technology.
The new device, called the "3rd Generation iPad" and "the new iPad" rather than iPad 3 or iPad HD, was introduced at a live event in San Francisco hosted by CEO Tim Cook and other executives.
The Retina Display features a 2048 x 1536 resolution screen and 3.1 million pixels, the most ever for a mobile device. The new iPad is 9.4 mm thin and weighs 1.4 pounds. Other features include a new camera- including 1080p video- and 10 hours of battery life.
