iPad Loses Market Share
Apple's iPad still controls a large majority of the worldwide tablet market, but its market share is shrinking as more rival products become available.
According to research firm Strategy Analytics, the iPad went from 96 percent of the worldwide tablet market in the third quarter to 75 percent in the fourth, while Android-based tablets jumped from 2.3 percent to 22 percent. The change driven almost entirely by the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
The other big change was that the market itself more than doubled between the two quarters, to just under 10 million.
