Smartphone Interest Soaring
More consumers are interested in purchasing smartphones in the near future than ever before, and that interest is pushing heavily towards Apple's iPhone and HTC's Android phones (especially the EVO 4G.) That's according to a survey released Wednesday by ChangeWave.
The survey found that 16.4 percent of those asked plan to buy a smartphone in the next 90 days- up from 10.8 percent in March and the previous high of 14.4 percent in June of 2009. '
Of those answered yes, more than half- 52 percent- expressed interest in the iPhone, while 19 percent said HTC, 9 percent Motorola and just six percent RIM/BlackBerry. When the question was asked in March, the iPhone was at 31 percent, with Motorola second at 16 percent and RIM third at 14 percent.
