Appliance Introductions Build on Trends
The much-anticipated Jenn-Air oven with rapid cook technology. Maytag has been teasing show attendees for the last year with a poster board describing its new cooking technology. This year, a product, the Accellis 5XP wall oven, will be on the floor quickly cooking up a storm. The Accellis cooks up to five times faster than a conventional oven by wrapping a controlled, smoothly flowing field of hot air around the food and combining minimal microwave energy.
The Jenn-Air Accellis will retail for approximately $3,500 and is expected to be available to consumers nationwide in the second quarter of 2000. The product will be available in advance through a pre-sell program with select dealers.
Show attendees may also get a glimpse of the new Maytag Century Neptune, which is planned to ship in late 2000, according to Kent Baker, vice president of strategic marketing, Maytag Appliances. The Century Neptune will have "enhanced performance and enhanced design," Baker said.
