RadioShack’s Roberts Retires
Len Roberts, the chairman of RadioShack, announces that he will retire upon the expiration of his term on the company’s board. Roberts says that he was planning to retire and that plans to do so when a new CEO was named.
Earlier in the year, former CEO Dave Edmonson resigned amidst controversy over misstatements of his academic credentials. Roberts stepped down as CEO in 2005, but signed an agreement that he would remain a consultant to RadioShack after his term as chairman ends. He joined RadioShack in 1993 as president.
