Armani Suits Up With Samsung
With the announcement that it will develop a high-end electronics brand along with Samsung, Italian fashion house Armani is the latest brand from the world of design to make the move into electronics. The Wall Street Journal reported over the weekend that Armani and Samsung will collaborate on a line that will include cell phones and LCD TVs, which will be sold in Armani boutiques around the world.
The line’s first product, a tiny mobile phone called the “Giorgio Armani-Samsung,” was to be introduced Monday at Milan’s fashion week, with availability planned for Europe by the end of this year and elsewhere at the start of 2008. The line’s other products will be introduced next year as well.
Earlier this year, LG and Prada teamed up on a high-end phone of their own.
