Hawaii Police Seek Hit-and-Run Suspect
Homicide detectives in Honolulu are searching for a man who say attempted to run down a police officer in a stolen car in a Best Buy parking lot. According to the Star Bulletin newspaper, the police officer had responded to a call of "suspicious activity" at the store, and arrived to find a man on a bike fleeing the store towards a waiting car. The car then sped away, striking the officer, who was able to fire a shot back at the car.
Armed Robbery Suspects Caught at Walmart
Three men in North Carolina were arrested at a Walmart in Wilmington last week and charged with armed robbery. According to the Star News Online, two of the men had robbed a customer at a nearby ATM, stealing a credit card and possibly cash, and they were caught only 30 minutes later attempting to use the stolen card at the Walmart. The robbery victim's credit card company had notified him that the card was being used; he promptly notified police.
