DTV Tests Planned for May 21
As the final DTV transition date approaches just over a month from now, the FCC is asking broadcasters to perform tests on May 21.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the commission is planning to ask stations to air three five-minute public-service announcements on that date, at 7:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The tests will not apply to the one third of stations that have already switched over.
The transition, originally scheduled for February, will now take place June 12.
