At CEA's CEO Summit, Losing Balls, Defining Visions
By Janet Pinkerton
OLYMPIC VALLEY, Calif.—A forest fire burned 20 miles in the distance, and the impact of an uncertain economy remained only a phone call away, but the Consumer Electronics Association's fifth annual CEO Summit gave industry manufacturing and retailing executives some needed creative downtime. This year's summit was sponsored in part by Dealerscope and other media and business companies.
CEA sought to increase retail participation in the CEO Summit, held June 20-22 and attended by about 75 industry executives plus their spouses. Retail representation included executives from 800.com, Best Buy, Circuit City, Computer Renaissance, Crutchfield, Ken Crane's, NARDA, Paradyme, RadioShack, Sound Advice, Tweeter and buying groups such as AVB/Brand Source, HTSA and PRO.
