At LG Event New Smartphone, Smartwatch Get Introduced
LG Electronics held an event in Seoul, South Korea, on Thursday to publicly unveil a couple of new products that it’s been working on.
First up was the LG V10 smartphone. The first of LG’s V Series phones includes a number of features that the company touted as first-ever’s including a Second Screen, dual front-facing cameras, and a manual video mode.
The Second Screen, LG said, is an inset display that rests above the main 5.7-inch QHD IPS Quantum Display on the V10. The second display can be set up as an “always on” display to “enhance the V10’s productiveness” without impacting batter life, LG explained. The Second Screen can be used to display the weather, time, date, and battery icon when the main display is off. When the main display is on, the Second Screen can become a dedicated launching area for shortcuts or favorite apps. Additionally, while watching a movie, the Second Screen can discretely notify you of incoming calls or messages.
