At Well Now!: ASTI’s Sleep Sound Innovations
Adaptive Sound Technologies Inc. (ASTI) showed off several of its sleep-enabling products at the recent Well Now! exhibition in New York City.
The LectroFan micro2 ($34.95), which resembles a small cold cream jar before the top portion is swiveled upward to make it ready for use, is a combination sleep sound machine/speaker optimized for travel, as it carries a built-in rechargeable battery with a life of up to 40 hours in sleep mode and 20 hours in Bluetooth mode.
It comes loaded with 11 digital, non-looping sleep sounds including white noise, fan sounds and ocean sounds. Its Bluetooth capability enables it to be paired with smartphone for music playback.

Also on view there was the LectroFan Kinder ($49.95), billed by the company as a “bedtime buddy” that plugs into a wall outlet and will lull infants to sleep with soothing sounds. A group of selectable sounds, including nature sounds such as rainfall and lullabies, is downloadable via the Kinder’s smartphone app to the device.
