At Well Now!: Coway’s Mega Line
Korean IoT appliance company Coway was at the New York City-held Well Now! health and fitness product show with several smart appliances designed to improve air quality, water quality and personal hygiene. They include the Airmega 400S air purifier, the Aquamega 200C water purifier and the Bidetmega bathroom hygiene system.
The Airmega 400S ($600) uses True HEPA filtration to cover 1,560 square feet, and its fan speeds and its Auto, Sleep and Eco modes are controllable via its IoCare app. The system also is compatible with Google Home and Amazon Alexa, and syncs with Amazon’s Dash Replenishment Service; it also provides alerts as to when the filter needs changing.
The Coway Aquamega 200C ($499) provides purified water without the expense and waste of plastic water bottles. It offers a cold-water setting in addition to providing room temperature filtered water, and it uses multi-stage filtration said to remove up to 99.9 percent of contaminants including lead, chlorine and chloramine. It can be connected to kitchen faucets and an electricity source and be ready to use in minutes, says the company; it works with the IoCare app to monitor water usage..
The Coway Bidetmega ($549), designed for bathroom hygiene, provides users with a two-stage cleaning regimen using customized water temperature, water pressure, direction and flow as well as a built-in dryer. It installs by connection to a homeowner’s existing toilet bowl with common household tools, says Coway. The system also has Braille buttons for the visually impaired.
