More than linguistics, Donaldson says the issue surrounding service plans is how well retailers are selling them to consumers. He says, "We knew our members were not doing a good job selling service plans, which is typical of independent retailers. They don't focus enough on it, while big boxes make their money on it."
According to Donaldson, "NARDA says if you do 20 percent or more of service volume, your service is going out of business. Instead of losing, we want our dealers to have an incentive to sell more."
