AT&T Mobile TV Arrives
AT&T’s new mobile TV service officially arrived Sunday, offering a 10-channel subscription service to the company’s more than 71 million U.S. customers. According to the New York Times, the service and those like it, known as “Tiny TV” in other parts of the world, has already caught on in Asia, although it has only scratched the surface thus far in the U.S. and Europe.
AT&T Mobile TV, which costs $15 per month under most plans, is available with LG and Samsung phones. It uses the “MediaFlo” network software made by Qualcomm, and is initially available in nearly 60 markets, with more to come. The service had been scheduled to launch in December, but was delayed.
