AT&T to Offer Consumer Tech Support
The competition for Geek Squad-like tech support just got more crowded by one, as AT&T announced Thursday that it will now offer in-home support service for computers and televisions, in addition to telecom. The service, which will be called AT&T ConnecTech, will be available in all 50 states, according to USA Today.
Prices start at $69 for the services, which are aimed squarely at the consumer market. Services offered include hanging TVs and installing speakers and networks, as well as phone tech support for other devices. Most of the work will be done through local contractors.
This year various companies, including Walmart, Sam’s Club and Target, have begun rolling out their own versions of Best Buy’s Geek Squad and Circuit City’s firedog.
