AT&T to Offer Contract-Less iPhone
AT&T said Tuesday that it will allow users to purchase the new 3G iPhone without a contract, for $400 more, the Associated Press reported.
The incentive for users who choose such an option will be the ability to cancel service without an early termination fee. The contract-free option will not be available right away when the product is released, but rather “sometime in the future.”
The company added that the new iPhone will go on sale at 8 a.m. on July 11, rather than at night, like last June’s launch of the original iPhone.
